Dr. Irma Campos is the President of ICPS, a Florida licensed psychologist, and a leadership development consultant. She approaches her work as a vocational calling, empathizing with clients’ experiences of grief, discrimination, and life stressors. Dr. Campos holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida, specializing in culturally humble and evidence-based psychoeducational evaluations, therapy, and career development. She has published three peer-reviewed scientific articles and presented her research at psychological science conferences, contributing to effective psychological approaches and treatments for diverse populations.
ICPS is physically located in Miami, Florida, but we offer some virtual services, like therapy, in all 41 PSYPACT states.
Our PhD psychologists have been on TV and other media sources, such as podcasts and PsychologyToday. They shared insights about mental health, behavior, and emotional well-being. These clips show how they use evidence-based knowledge to address real-life issues outside the therapy or testing room. This exposure helps viewers see our thoughtful approach and builds trust in the care we offer.
Our therapists have the highest level of education in psychology (PhD). A PhD in psychology shows that a provider has skills in empirical research and patient care. They have conducted studies using their own data and advanced statistical methods. This degree also means they know how to provide evidence-based therapy and evaluations. They use objective, standardized tests, client reports/experiences, and clinical experience to make diagnoses, as needed.
Our licensed psychologists offer treatments and therapies, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Executive Functioning coaching (EF coaching), and leadership therapy for teens and adults.
Our psychologists integrate assessment and treatment to address multiple concerns at the same time. This approach allows a clinical psychologist in Miami to deliver efficient diagnosis and targeted care. Our training across CBT, ACT, ERP, executive functioning, and leadership development supports effective outcomes.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common issue for teens and adults. It can make it hard to focus, stay organized, and complete daily tasks. Many people with ADHD also face impulsivity and restlessness. Still, with the right support and strategies, they can manage their symptoms and thrive in school, work, and everyday life.
Anxiety therapy involves a combination of progressive exposure to distressing stimuli, problem-solving, stress management, values-driven change, and cognitive restructuring.
Evidence-based cognitive therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, are similar psychotherapies that have been scientifically supported in treating anxiety disorders, ADD or ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic, health conditions, and more.
Exposure therapy works by slowly and carefully exposing a person to the situations, objects, or thoughts that cause them fear or anxiety. The idea is that by repeatedly facing these fears in a safe, supportive setting, the intensity of the fear decreases.
In-person or online individual therapy for teens and adults focuses on helping the person understand and manage their own thoughts, emotions, behaviors, values, and identities while applying personal strengths. Individual therapy can also help improve confidence, coping skills, social skills, and academic or workplace issues.
Scientifically supported leadership therapy can help leaders assess and develop their leadership-based strengths and weaknesses. Through our therapy (i.e., exploratory and evidence-based) and coaching (i.e., action-oriented) approach, leaders can understand the root causes of their behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses. They can also work to change their behaviors to enhance leadership functioning, engagement, influence, and well-being.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition that affects people by causing constant, unwanted thoughts (called obsessions) and repetitive actions (called compulsions). These thoughts and behaviors can make daily life difficult and can feel overwhelming. If you live in Miami and are struggling with OCD, we are here to help you manage it so you can live a better, more balanced life.
Our PhD psychologists in Miami provide expert psychological testing based on research, clinical training, and standardized methods. A PhD in psychology requires advanced education in scientific research, psychological assessment, and evidence-based therapy. Because of this training, our psychologists use objective and standardized tests (along with subjective reports) to give as accurate as possible diagnoses and clear treatment recommendations for children, teens, and adults.
Mental health conditions can be complex and often occur together, so thorough diagnosing and treatment can requires more than one method. Our psychologists in Miami use a comprehensive approach that includes clinical interviews, standardized psychological tests, and information from multiple sources when needed. By combining different evaluation methods, we aspire to provide more reliable results and a clearer understanding of each person’s strengths, challenges, and needs.
After completing the evaluation process, we provide a detailed report based on individual results and needs. Our psychologists in Miami give personalized recommendations for therapy, school or workplace support, and testing accommodations when appropriate. We may also suggest evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, leadership therapy, or executive functioning coaching to support long-term improvement.
A licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD and advanced expertise in research, assessment, and diagnosis leads evaluations at ICPS. A client-focused and culturally humble approach guides every step of the process. As a trusted psychologist in Miami, FL, all evaluations are carefully overseen to deliver accurate results and reliable diagnoses. Many clients seek ICPS when looking for the best psychologist in Miami or a top psychologist in Miami for clear, research-based recommendations that support long-term quality of life. Services are available in both English and Spanish.
Mental health concerns are complex syndromes, and they can co-occur with one another at high rates. We believe in using a variety of methods, from multiple raters of symptoms to clinical interviews to standardized assessments, to make the most accurate diagnoses. We do not believe in using one clinical interview or assessment to diagnose—we do not think this would yield helpful, long-term, or the most accurate results for our clients, from children to adults.
After a collaborative process of intake(s), standardized evaluations for your unique needs, and a 30-60+ page report of your interpreted results, we may recommend treatments, actions, and accommodations to address mental health, work/career, and educational concerns. Complete and relevant recommendations for IEPs, 504 plans, & MCAT, SAT, Bar, Board-Certification, and other examination accommodations can be offered (if applicable). Treatment options (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Leadership Therapy, and Career or Executive Functioning Coaching) in our office are also available if applicable.
Our ADHD or ADD evaluation process comprehensively assesses symptoms and impairments in functioning while considering multiple standardized assessment (e.g., cognitive, neuropsychological) scores. Importantly, we strive to differentiate ADHD symptoms from other possible symptoms as well as consider common co-occurring disorders.
Our Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations for children (ages 4+), teens, and adults incorporate the ADOS 2, ADI-R, and other clinically recommended measures. The ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised) and ADOS 2 (Autism Diagnostic Schedule, Second Edition) are gold standard assessments for assessing Autism Spectrum Disorders across the lifespan (for providers adequately trained in doing so).
Our Miami practice specializes in dyslexia testing for children, teens, and adults. If you or a loved one is struggling with reading and writing skills, getting tested for dyslexia can provide valuable insights and help guide you toward the right support.
Gifted evaluations or testing incorporate cognitive or IQ assessments and clinical interviews to provide a child or teen with educational programming commensurate with abilities, when applicable.
Learning disability evaluations/testing for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, or Dyscalculia are typically used to provide evidence of a Specific Learning Disorder as well as to identify academic and cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Consistent with the latest science, we use a Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses and neuropsychological approach.
Neuropsychological evaluations, including memory, language, executive functioning, attention, visuospatial, and learning evaluations, can help answer more specific questions about brain-related functioning. Although we offer some assessments in this area, at times, we may refer a client to a more specialized provider in this area, however.
Psychological evaluations can help clarify more intricate diagnoses (e.g., mood disorders, OCD) and identify the strengths of each individual with the intent of improving functioning or providing accommodations.

“I really needed help I was failing all of my classes and it seemed like no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get any better. Dr. Irma Campos seriously helped me find a diagnosis and gave recommendations for accommodations. The process was tricky for me and it was really reassuring for me when she asked if I needed breaks or if I needed water. I think she is brilliant and a wonderful person to go to.”
